“Robyn and Rose are the absolute BEST. They captured our family so beautifully and were so easy to work with. They made our 3 year old feel comfortable and were able to capture some of my favorite family photos of us ever, despite how chaotic my kid is. They even brought props. I will forever be grateful to have these beautiful photos of us and would recommend Fauna and Film 100x over.”

As a Huntsville family photographer, one of my favorite types of photoshoots is an in-home family session. Whether it’s with kids, pets, or just two people in love, being at home can make a family feel so much more comfortable in front of the camera. In their own home, families can so easily create these organic moments that translate so beautifully on film.
This session with Anna + Luke and their sweet little one was so special. They invited us into their home on a warm Sunday morning and, after a few minutes of chatting and showing us around their space, we got started. Robyn and I love to bring something to entertain the kiddos (in this case, a shiny gold beach ball!), and the family was quick to start playing. They tossed the ball around on their gorgeous back porch overlooking the forested valley below, making a scenic backdrop for their photos.
We spent the next hour acting as a fly on the wall, giving the family space to interact and play as they normally would, and documenting it along the way. Our session was set to a soundtrack of laughter, meows, and “Mom, look!”s. Anna is a florist, so she and her daughter also spent some time arranging flowers together at their kitchen table (with some cameos from their cats!).
The photos from this Huntsville in-home family photoshoot turned out gorgeous. The fun we were all having together is so tangible, and these sweet moments can be looked back on for years to come.
