FROM OUR FAMILY TO YOURS
Founded by Huntsville-born sisters, Rose and Robyn, Fauna & Film is a women-owned business offering a connection-focused photography experience inspired by the nostalgia of leafing through a photo album filled with core memories and family milestones.
Their combined 25+ years experience in creative industries highlighted how modern portraiture has become impersonal, transactional, and simultaneously both underwhelming and overwhelming. Informed by the rise of the recently popularized “shoot and share” method that leaves clients with a job halfway done and the responsibility of a huge digital gallery, these sisters created Fauna & Film to push back. Rose and Robyn strive to connect with clients first and foremost, allowing them to create meaningful printed images that can be physically held and cherished for decades, not digital files to be scrolled past and forgotten. By combining their skill sets and experience, they are uniquely equipped to provide a highly personal experience that is tailored to each client. The Fauna & Film brand celebrates and honors the diverse backgrounds of everyone they work with, empowering connection, community, and the preservation of their unique stories through artwork they will cherish.
Rose's experience both behind and in front of the camera goes back to early childhood. Cameras and cinematography have been integral throughout her life, ranging from years spent in filmmaking education to creating educational short films for local government to modeling for Robyn's latest creative notion. Her experience with cinema has fostered a unique artistic approach, and her time spent in front of the camera has expanded her perspective allowing further connection & creativity as a portrait photographer.
Robyn's photography experience began in early elementary school with a small point-and-shoot digital camera from Walgreens. She began photographing senior portraits in middle school and weddings in high school. She eventually found her passion for film photography while studying experimental processes in the darkroom at The University of Alabama in Huntsville. Robyn enjoyed several years working in the wedding photography industry until giving birth to her daughter in 2018 and shifting her focus toward family and motherhood photography.

THE
SCENES
behind
on film
Voted #1 place to live for families in the US back in 2022, Huntsville is becoming quite the melting pot. As your Huntsville photographer, we are proud Huntsville natives and find our extensive knowledge of the city to be very helpful when scouting locations and collaborating with other small businesses. You'll often find us working at our favorite local coffee shop or hunting for our next Client Closet dress at a local boutique.
After growing up in the early 2000s, we have found that our creative inspiration derives from the mediums that invoke the most nostalgia for us. When we look back at the documentation of our favorite childhood memories, we see moments preserved on 35mm film from our grandmother’s point-and-shoot. We see pixelated home movies recorded on pre-smartphone Sony handycams. Those mediums represent our earliest, most cherished memories, so it was only natural to carry them with us into adulthood. In the hyper-digital, fast-paced world of the 2020s, we find the unmatched quality beyond worth the added care and investment these mediums demand.

huntsville family session
"Robyn and Rose are the absolute BEST. They captured our family so beautifully and were so easy to work with. They made our 3 year old feel comfortable and were able to capture some of my favorite family photos of us ever, despite how chaotic my kid is. They even brought props. I will forever be grateful to have these beautiful photos of us and would recommend Fauna and Film 100x over."
"Literally just cried in the car looking at these"

"Robyn is so talented behind the camera and Rose brings so much fun energy to the session! I love whenever we get together because they are so collaborative and creative when it comes to styling and choosing locations. And both were so patient and kind to my two toddlers when we did family photos last weekend. Definitely book with them because you won’t regret it! Highly recommend!"

huntsville engagement session
Rose and Robyn braved the freezing January weather to capture the most beautiful engagement photos of my fiancé and me! From start to finish, they were incredible—taking the time to review our Pinterest inspo and turning those ideas into magazine-worthy shots. The photos are stunning, and the uniqueness of the film gives them such a timeless, artistic feel. We can’t wait to feature them on our wedding website. Highly recommend these two if you’re looking for talented photographers who truly bring your vision to life!
