WELCOME TO THE

The ethics of using images that include kids’ faces in our marketing (whether or not we should be a “faceless” family photographer) has been a regular point of discussion for years. It’s a complex issue that a lot of people feel strongly about, and we’ve never previously come to a decision we wholeheartedly stand by.
However, in light of recent events, “going faceless” feels like the only option that feels right for us and our business. Moving forward, we will no longer be posting identifiable images/videos of children.

We’ve struggled with sharing kids’ faces on our professional page for as long as we’ve been in business. (stalking, AI deepfakes, predators, consent/digital footprint, exploitation). After the recent federal ruling to protect AI-generated CSAM under the First Amendment, we can no longer justify sharing identifiable images of minors.
Our priority is the privacy, safety, and autonomy of children. The Internet is scary and it’s forever. We’d rather be overly cautious than overly reckless.

We are simply removing their identifiable features from our marketing.
Still, children will always be at the heart of our work, visible and celebrated through their interactions with other people and the world around them.

The goal of every session is to help you create a record of your family’s life and legacy; it has never been digital images for social media.
This decision will not impact the client experience for couples or families.

Even after extensive research and discussion, we know we don’t have all the answers. We also know this topic is not black and white, and we certainly are not policing what our clients or peers choose to post on their social media.
We welcome discussion.
All the best,
Rose & Robyn
