Many people book a photographer with a specific goal in mind: decorate the home with updated photos. But there’s a lot that happens between the session itself and the fully finished artwork.

You might be wondering how we actually design custom framing for your space. Here’s a little peak behind the curtain.

1. Final artwork is the goal from the very start

Printing your photos is the ultimate goal of our process. So, we’ve already taken care of all the homework of finding the very best labs and framers. Any photographic prints are true to color and won’t fade over the years. Frames are custom-made from archival materials and designed to last for generations.

From the very beginning, our process is designed help you determine how you want to enjoy your images. At our Planning Appointment, we’ll get into more specifics, sometimes making final decisions. This allows us to photograph your session with your final artwork choices in mind.

2. Custom digital mockups

Before your Gallery Reveal, we (or you) will take photos of your home—specifically any areas you’re interested in adding framed photos. Using those photos, we’ll design digital mockups that show different custom frames in your space. Mockups will show pieces exactly to scale and are fully customizable. We will make any tweaks needed until you’re happy with what you see.

You’re never left guessing what the final frames will look like on your walls.

3. Choosing the images

Choosing specific photos for display can be a lot more difficult than people think. We’ve often heard from clients that not knowing which images to print is what ultimately kept them from printing anything at all. When you work with a photographer for digital files alone, the resulting product is exactly that: digital files. And therefore, all the decisions involved with selecting and printing any of those digitals.

At Fauna & Film, we aren’t going to create more work for you. Our job is to follow through until your photographs printed out in your hands. After our session, we’ll go through your images together and help you choose which ones to print and display in your home.

4. Artwork delivery

After designing custom frame arrangements or album pages together, our professional printing lab will create your heirlooms. Final artwork is inspected by the two of us personally before being delivered to your home.

All artwork will be complete and ready to adorn your home upon delivery.
